Cambodia's 'Stolen Warriors': Exposing the Illicit Trade of Classical Khmer Art

This is the story of a spectacular case of robbery that is changing the art world.

An iconic temple statue, looted during the chaos of the Cambodian civil war, turns up in Sotheby’s auction catalogue 40 years later with a price tag of three million dollars. But New York attorneys intervene.

In this investigative thriller, German director Wolfgang Luck follows the story in Cambodia, Thailand and the USA. He managed to interview the late Bangkok art dealer Douglas Latchford, who was behind much of the illicit trade in Cambodian antiques.
