Problem Solving Skills: Empowering Teams to Solve Problems
This extended 2-day course deepens participants’ ability to solve workplace challenges through structured thinking, collaborative analysis, and practical decision-making. Participants will gain confidence in using problem-solving frameworks, applying creative and critical thinking, and leading team-based discussions and simulations that drive real solutions in complex settings.
Why Enrol in This Course?
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Define and frame workplace problems clearly and collaboratively
Distinguish symptoms from root causes using analytical tools
Apply creativity tools such as Brainwriting, SCAMPER and Reverse Thinking to generate options
Evaluate and prioritise solutions using structured models
Recognise and mitigate bias in team decision-making
Facilitate group problem-solving sessions effectively
Lead or participate in team simulations to test real-world decision-making
Build and apply action plans in a work context

Course Requirements
This course does not require technical knowledge or formal qualifications. Participants should bring an open and curious mindset for challenging assumptions and a desire to improve both individual and team-level problem-solving performance.
Training Methods
Structured sessions with clear goals, activities and wrap-ups. An engaging mix of lectures, discussions, role-plays, peer sharing and hands-on tasks. Facilitator-led, adaptive and participatory approach. Content tailored to audience needs and outcomes. Includes action planning and personal reflection.
Agenda
Day 1 - Focuses on structured thinking and creative analysis, including framing the right problem, root cause diagnosis and systems thinking, creative and critical thinking for solutions, prioritisation and decision-making tools, and a mini team-based simulation.
Day 2 - Focuses on critical thinking and bias awareness, facilitating problem-solving as a team leader, simulation and solution pitching, and action planning with accountability.
Beyond the Training
Participants will be encouraged to apply what they learn through action planning, progress tracking and peer support after the workshop.
Trainer Biography
The trainer is a seasoned business leader and learning and development consultant specialising in leadership, management, coaching, communication and problem-solving. With over 15 years of regional and international experience across Asia and Europe, he designs and delivers human-centred programmes that support mindset transformation and sustainable behavioural change.
