Regional Comparison
Cambodia: $2,000 – $3,300
NGO roles in Cambodia typically supplement salary with housing and allowances, narrowing differences with private sector benchmarks.
Laos: $1,500 – $2,500
Fewer senior finance roles and a smaller private sector keep pay levels below Cambodia, though international NGOs offer higher packages.
Myanmar: $1,200 – $2,200
Political and economic instability continues to limit salary competitiveness, with international organisations offering occasional uplifts.
Thailand: $3,200 – $5,000
Bangkok-based finance controllers earn substantially more due to mature markets and stronger demand across both NGO and corporate sectors.
Vietnam: $2,700 – $4,200
Higher demand for IFRS/CPA-qualified professionals and a strong multinational presence position Vietnam above Cambodia in salary terms.
