The Head of Finance Audit Unit at ABA Bank oversees the financial audit function from planning through to reporting.

This position ensures full compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and internal control frameworks.

It offers an opportunity to contribute strategically to the bank’s governance, transparency and risk management excellence.


Department/Function: Legal, Compliance & Risk Management (Regulatory Affairs, Contract Law, Internal Audit)

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance audit team in executing approved audit plans, ensuring compliance with tax obligations and reporting standards.

  • Audit financial risk management processes to evaluate design adequacy and control effectiveness.

  • Coordinate with the Head of Internal Audit Division to set audit objectives, scope, strategy and timelines.

  • Develop risk-based test plans and appropriate sampling criteria using professional judgement and departmental methodology.

  • Propose practical and value-added recommendations to address control weaknesses and process inefficiencies.

  • Ensure audit reports are clear, accurate and contain sufficient and appropriate recommendations.

  • Oversee audit team development, ensuring continual improvement of standards and capability.


Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field; professional certifications (CIA, ACCA/CPA, CFE or CISA) are advantageous.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in internal or external auditing within the financial industry.

  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and best-in-class audit methodologies such as IIA Standards, COSO and COBIT.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse data, diagnose issues and deliver innovative solutions.

  • Proven track record of leading teams and driving transformational change.

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and project management skills with sound independent judgement.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio; additional software knowledge is a plus.

  • High-level communication and presentation skills in Khmer and English.

Salary Benchmark
