This is a graduate-level opportunity with ABA Bank, Cambodia’s leading commercial bank and a member of the National Bank of Canada Group.

As a Junior Small Business Loan Officer, you will be responsible for assessing small business loan applications, conducting credit investigations and ensuring high-quality lending standards.

Based in the Pea Reang District Branch, this is a client-facing role that provides first-hand experience in credit analysis, risk evaluation and customer engagement within a structured banking environment.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage both new and existing clients according to loan policies.

  • Onboard clients and support achievement of loan disbursement targets.

  • Explain loan options and terms clearly to prospective borrowers.

  • Collect and verify documentation required for loan applications.

  • Conduct credit checks and assess applicants’ financial status and repayment capacity.

  • Compile supporting financial records, including credit histories and corporate documents.

  • Perform site visits to evaluate loan purpose and collateral adequacy.

  • Visit existing clients regularly to monitor loan quality and explore cross-selling opportunities.

  • Follow up on late payments and escalate issues to supervisors when needed.

  • Register title deeds at local authorities to confirm legal ownership of collateral.


Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or associate degree in finance, banking, accounting or a related field.

  • Less than 1 year’s experience in a financial, administrative or customer service role.

  • Proficiency in both Khmer and English.

  • Competent in using Microsoft Office for daily reporting and documentation.

  • Demonstrated sales and customer service skills.

  • Strong numeracy and error detection capabilities.

  • Effective problem-solving and negotiation skills.

  • Good interpersonal communication with the ability to build lasting client relationships.

  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
