The University of Puthisastra (UP) is offering a 6-month Maintenance Internship within its Facilities and Development Centre.
This opportunity is ideal for students in electrical engineering or related fields who are interested in gaining hands-on experience with electrical systems, water networks and general maintenance operations within an academic setting.
Interns will contribute to the upkeep and improvement of campus infrastructure while learning from an experienced team and applying technical knowledge in a real-world environment.
Responsibilities
Assist in supervising, guiding and advising the maintenance team on repairs to the electricity system, water system, furniture and fixtures.
Help install and schedule regular maintenance of electrical equipment, water systems and related facilities.
Support repair and troubleshooting of the electricity lines, plumbing systems and general campus equipment.
Report on energy, equipment and water usage to support more efficient consumption.
Maintain and monitor the performance of electronic devices to ensure functionality.
Assist in identifying and proposing solutions for infrastructure maintenance improvements.
Support all activities involving the installation, maintenance and repair of campus facilities.
Help ensure workers have appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Contribute to the preparation of monthly maintenance reports.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the maintenance officer or line manager.
Eligibility
Currently a third-year student or holder of an associate degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
At least 6 months' experience in electrical or general maintenance work.
Completion of training courses in maintenance or project management is an advantage.
Familiarity with MS Office and digital tools for maintenance tracking.
Some command of English and Khmer, both spoken and written.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexible hours when required.
Proactive mindset with an eagerness to learn about technical systems.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Sociable and committed to learning new skills and techniques.
