The Senior Manager, Data Engineering & Architecture at Cellcard leads the organisation’s data strategy, architecture, engineering and governance functions.
The role ensures data accessibility, reliability and security to support advanced analytics, AI integration, regulatory compliance and data-driven decision-making.
It suits a visionary data leader with strong technical expertise and the ability to align data strategy with commercial goals.
Department/Function: Data, Analytics & Business Intelligence (Data Science, Reporting, Performance Monitoring)
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Define and implement an enterprise data architecture strategy, including data lakes, warehouses, marts, streaming platforms and cloud-native solutions.
Lead the design, build and optimisation of scalable ETL and ELT pipelines for batch and real-time data ingestion.
Oversee modernisation from legacy data warehouses to cloud platforms such as AWS, Snowflake, Azure and GCP.
Integrate structured, semi-structured and unstructured data for enterprise-wide use.
Introduce best practices in data modelling, metadata management, versioning and master data management.
Establish and maintain a Data Governance Framework covering catalogue, dictionary, glossary, ownership, retention and quality rules.
Build and lead high-performing data engineering, governance and architecture teams to drive a data-centric enterprise.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data engineering, information systems or a related field.
Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in data engineering or architecture with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven expertise in cloud data platforms, including AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake and Databricks.
Strong knowledge of big data ecosystems such as Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Hive and Flink.
Experience with data governance tools including Collibra, Apache Atlas, Informatica and Alation.
Deep understanding of data modelling, relational and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills with strong business acumen and communication abilities.
