The Senior Sourcing Merchandiser (Production) at Gap Inc. is responsible for executing vendor development strategies and overseeing production activities at the facility level.
This role focuses on ensuring timely delivery, quality performance and adherence to commercial standards.
It suits an experienced production professional with strong vendor management and operational expertise in apparel manufacturing.
Department/Function: Operations & General Management (Production, Supply Chain, Logistics, Facilities)
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Train vendors on conducting capacity planning using SAM and perform regular capacity monitoring.
Support and drive lean initiatives, including workflow improvements, line layout and combined operations.
Establish efficiency baselines and man-machine ratios, guiding vendors towards long-term strategic targets.
Collaborate with technical, QA and mill management teams to ensure commercial standards are achieved.
Partner with mill management and QA teams to address fabric or quality concerns.
Manage bulk production tracking processes to ensure timely delivery and risk mitigation.
Review and evaluate vendor performance, recommending improvements where needed.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
A degree in supply chain management, textiles or a related field.
Extensive experience in production or merchandising within the apparel industry.
Proven track record in vendor development and performance management.
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and industrial engineering.
Ability to analyse production data and guide efficiency improvements.
Proficient in communication, negotiation and stakeholder collaboration across multicultural teams.
Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Benchmark

USD $1,800 to $2,500 per month, depending on experience*
