Regional Comparison

Cambodia: $2,600 – $4,000

Local UN consultancy bands plus forestry and environmental specialist market data point to upper-mid national rates for technical roles in Phnom Penh.

Laos: $2,200 – $3,500

The neighbouring market shows slightly lower consultant compensation, consistent with national cost structures and NGO or UN project norms.

Myanmar: $2,000 – $3,200

Demand exists but pricing is tempered by programme constraints and operational risk considerations affecting national consultancy budgets.

Thailand: $3,500 – $5,500

A more mature market and higher prevailing consultant pay for environmental roles lift typical bands above CLMV peers.

Vietnam: $3,000 – $4,800

A strong pipeline of projects and competitive hiring for environmental specialists put national consultant pay below Thailand but above Cambodia.
